Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The ULTRASOUND MENTOR base platform is a modular, mixed-reality simulator for diagnostic and interventional ultrasound training. It brings together the simulation system, software and didactic environment, with step-by-step tasks, a 3D anatomical map, a probe positioning assistant and diagnostic tools such as colour Doppler, PW, CW, M-mode and measurements.

Manikins are added with the male, female or paediatric packages, which are easily swapped to suit the module: point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and echocardiography on the male manikin, obstetrics and gynaecology on the female manikin and paediatrics on the paediatric manikin. Each manikin has realistic landmarks that assist probe positioning, and probes are quickly switched between TTE/TEE and TAS/TVS approaches.

Options that extend the system

MANIKIN PACKAGES (optional):

  • Male: basic skills, POCUS and echocardiography, with transthoracic, transabdominal and transoesophageal approaches.
  • Female: complete OB/GYN curriculum via transabdominal and transvaginal scanning, with moving fetus and 2nd trimester abdomen.
  • Paediatric: paediatric pathologies in lying and upright positions.

PERC MENTOR SUITE (optional):

  • Ultrasound-guided procedures with a live-tracked real needle or aspiration syringe, on snap-in anatomy cartridges with palpable landmarks.

MYCASE (optional):

  • Editor for creating training cases from real OB/GYN or echocardiography volumes, with patient history, findings and expected measurements, which can be integrated into MentorLearn.

STANDALONE CART (optional):

  • Cart-based configuration as an alternative to the desktop set-up.
