Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

Compact, stand-alone umbilical trainer that reproduces the look, feel and function of a fresh umbilical stump. It was developed together with an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) instructor to provide realistic, repeatable practice.

The soft silicone stump sits on a glass jar that acts as a fluid reservoir. A long cord or a short stump is inserted through the central opening down into the jar, creating a stable system filled with artificial blood beneath the model. The long cord is used to practise cutting and catheterisation; several short stumps allow vessel identification and blood sampling with high learner turnover.
