Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The ENDOSIM base platform is a haptic flexible endoscopy simulator with force feedback on scope insertion and rotation. The haptic unit detaches and works as a desktop unit, and all necessary computer and monitor hardware is included.

This configuration includes the basic skills, gastroscopy and colonoscopy modules: from scope handling, navigation and retroflexion to upper GI examination with ESGE photo documentation and colonoscopy to the caecum while avoiding loops.

Every exercise is recorded with detailed metrics, and the administration mode supports course planning, trainee follow-up and exercise configuration. The platform can be expanded with additional modules, such as ERCP and bronchoscopy.

Handle the flexible endoscope: insertion, rotation, buttons and angulation knobs.
Navigate the upper GI tract to the duodenum and the colon to the caecum.
Avoid and reduce loops during colonoscopy.
Carry out a systematic mucosal examination, including retroflexion.
Document the upper GI examination by photographing the eight ESGE-defined locations.
Target specific sites with the scope and take biopsies.
Practise repeatedly at increasing levels of difficulty before the first patient contact.
