Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The instructor selects the heart, bowel or lung condition from a wireless remote control, and the student must palpate to locate each auscultation site — one heart site, one bowel site and two lung sites on the anterior surface, plus two lung sites on the posterior — just as with a real patient.

The remote allows a choice of 11 heart conditions, 4 bowel conditions and 9 lung conditions, and lets the instructor switch quickly between them so students can compare sounds and reach a diagnosis; a single remote can control several units at once within a range of about 100 feet.

By combining auscultation with the airway management landmarks of an infant torso, it allows both skills to be integrated into a single paediatric practice scenario.
