Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

Baby Nina with cleft lip is a full-term silicone birthing manikin incorporating a cleft lip, so that recognition of a congenital facial anomaly becomes part of the birth scenario. Otherwise, it is functionally equivalent to Baby Nina.

The cleft lip provides a realistic visual cue for the learner to identify the anomaly and respond. It allows practice of UAC and UVC umbilical access, bag-valve-mask ventilation with visible chest rise, airway positioning and nasogastric tube placement, and supports work on immediate assessment, communication with parents and referral planning.
