Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The model is made from a non-toxic, stain-resistant “flesh-based” material that cleans easily with mild soap, built to withstand frequent classroom use.
Its water-based gel filling reproduces the natural consistency of breast tissue on palpation, and it contains five lumps representing different benign conditions: cysts, fibroadenomas, sclerosing adenosis and fat necrosis.
This range of findings allows practice in telling several benign textures apart by touch, a useful step before training detection of findings that do require referral.
