Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

Luke represents a European man in his twenties with deep partial-thickness or full-thickness charred facial burns. It is a soft, durable, hand-painted silicone facial overlay with an integrated wig and eyebrows and facial hair inserted into the silicone.

It is designed for the SimMan manikin and may fit other manikins with a similar head size. It is secured with a Velcro strap at the back, without stretching it over the head, which also makes it less claustrophobic for the wearer. Depending on face shape, it can be worn by a standardised patient, so the same character can move from actor to manikin during the scenario.

Each face is hand-painted, so there may be slight differences in paintwork between units, and the wig may vary in colour, length and style depending on availability. It is part of the burns patient kit.
