Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This trainer reproduces a full leg with a major injury to the lower leg, with exposed bone and muscle, as would be seen in a major trauma. The integrated bleeding tubes, driven by a manual pump, allow a realistic major haemorrhage to be simulated and let trainees check whether the control technique used -tourniquet, pressure bandage or haemostatic agent- stops the bleeding.
The leg is weighted to be heavier at the top, just like a real leg, which adds genuine difficulty when applying a tourniquet. It is robust, washable, reusable and easy to transport; it measures 78 x 25 x 19 cm and weighs 6 kg.
