Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The THORAXIS thoracic neuraxial simulator is an ideal simulator for training in the common neuraxial blocks. The ultrasound-compatible model contains the anatomical structures of the thoracic region and reproduces a realistic dural puncture, like that of a real patient. Thanks to the realistic loss of resistance and the fluid-filled intrathecal space, the user can locate the correct target points. THORAXIS is the basis of your training in thoracic neuraxial techniques.
Features:
– Subarachnoid space (the fluid-filled tube simulates the dural click and the CSF confirmation).
– Epidural space (makes it possible to simulate the loss of resistance technique).
– Vertebral bodies (location of the interspinous space with visible and palpable spinous processes).
– Ligamentum flavum (hard, granular texture that gives a realistic feel).
– Scapular angles (the superior and inferior angles of the scapula serve as anatomical landmarks).
Training techniques:
– Epidural loss of resistance (identify the epidural loss of resistance)
– Catheter placement (insert epidural and spinal catheters)
– Ultrasound-compatible (improve ultrasound competence)
