What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

Product No.: PC-PEE001.04

image.pngOverview

This model simulates a 5-month-old infant with accurate anatomical structure and clear bony landmarks. It is designed for lumbar puncture training, featuring realistic needle insertion levels, tactile feedback, and operation error prompts.

image.pngAnatomy

Flexible, lifelike skin with realistic elasticity for accurate puncture sensation.
Clear bony landmarks on the body surface and a complete internal skeletal structure.
Anatomically correct layers, including skin, subcutaneous fat, supraspinous ligament, interspinous ligament, yellow ligament, dura mater, and arachnoid membrane.

image.pngRealism

Lumbar puncture provides accurate feedback, including the characteristic “pop” when passing through the yellow ligament.
Simulated cerebrospinal fluid flows upon successful puncture, mimicking real clinical procedures.
Error prompts activate by lighting up red when the first or second lumbar intervertebral space is incorrectly selected for puncture.

image.png Cleaning

Clean the model with a damp cloth using warm water and a neutral detergent.
Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools.
Ensure the simulator is dry before storage and keep it away from direct sunlight.

Knowledge

What you learn

Task trainer modality. The competencies this equipment trains, in the language of the training plan.

  • Position the infant correctly for lumbar puncture.
  • Choose the right intervertebral space and avoid the higher levels.
  • Recognise the planes: skin, subcutaneous tissue, supraspinous and interspinous ligaments, ligamentum flavum, dura mater and arachnoid.
  • Feel the give on passing the ligamentum flavum.
  • Confirm success by the flow of simulated cerebrospinal fluid.
