What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This newborn doll is particularly suitable for nappy-changing and care courses aimed at parents-to-be. The jointed model can be used to practise picking up and holding the baby, umbilical cord care, skin care and nappy changing. It weighs approximately 1.1 kg, but feels heavier than a real baby because it lacks muscle tone. As its mouth is slightly open, it can also be used to a limited extent for breastfeeding exercises. The model has an umbilical cord stump and numerous skin folds, ideal for practising personal hygiene. The head, the arms and the legs are movable thanks to the rotating joints.
