What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This newborn doll is particularly suitable for nappy-changing and care courses aimed at parents-to-be. The model is jointed and can be used to practise picking up and carrying the baby, as well as for umbilical cord care, skin care and nappy changing. The model weighs about 2.4 kg, but feels heavier because, unlike a real baby, it has no tone of its own. As its mouth is slightly open, it can also be used to a limited extent for breastfeeding exercises. The model has an umbilical cord stump and numerous skin folds, ideal for practising personal hygiene. The head, the arms and the legs move by means of rotating joints.
