What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This newborn doll is particularly suitable for nappy-changing and care courses aimed at parents-to-be. The jointed model can be used to practise picking up and carrying the baby, umbilical cord care, skin care and nappy changing. It weighs about 1.1 kg, but feels heavier than a real baby because it has no muscle tone. As its mouth is slightly open, the model can also be used to a limited extent for breastfeeding exercises. It has an umbilical stump and numerous skin folds, well suited to practising personal hygiene. The head, the arms and the legs move thanks to rotating joints.
