Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

4-Year-old Pediatric Full Body Phantom is an X-Ray/CT and US-compatible training product. It is primarily used to train various patient positioning techniques. Often purchased by medical schools and teaching hospitals to train their radiology students and other medical professionals.

The design of this phantom is based on the model of a 4-year-old child 40″ (102 cm) in height. This phantom is a life-size, full-body anthropomorphic phantom with organs and bones constituted in 10 body parts. The phantom weighs about 20 kg. Other uses include visual evaluation in finding out optimal scanning conditions. The skeleton is built from individually cast bones from a realistic, patented epoxy-based composite material.

Note: By default, the phantom comes in a translucent amber appearance. The skin feature can be included upon request.

Disclaimer : The phantom displayed on this page is a synthetically fabricated training simulator. While it has been engineered to mimic the anatomy of a 4-year old child for medical imaging, it is not meant to replace a live child and may have certain limitations in its capabilities.

Unlike an actual human however, the phantom will not be harmed or deteriorated due to repeated radiation . It is designed for easy use by radiologists or students with minimal supervision. The phantom presents a safe alternative to using cadavers or volunteers. This makes it a sustainable, ethical choice for the early stages of research and education.

Please review the design, description, and properties carefully before purchasing the model. Only manufacturing defects will be covered under two years of the standard warranty. For more details, please refer to our Warranty Policy and Return Policy . For any specific questions or concerns, please contact our technical team here .

Note: These X-Ray images were taken using a Control-X machine and a VXvue (DR plate). See the full parameters here .

Knowledge

What you learn

Patient simulator modality. The competencies this equipment trains, in the language of the training plan.

  • Adjust the acquisition parameters on a complete paediatric body.
  • Recognise the internal structures on the acquired image.
  • Compare the same object on X-ray, CT and ultrasound.
  • Practise positioning and centring before working with patients.
