Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The simulator reproduces the size and anatomy of a newborn, with soft skin and a functional airway and ventilation system that shows bilateral lung expansion when ventilated.

It allows practice of umbilical venous and arterial access, IV access in the hand and foot with realistic blood flashback, chest compressions and ventilation, as well as simulating a collapsed lung and chest tube placement. It is waterproof, allowing newborn bathing to be practised too.

It includes two simulated congenital anomalies — myelomeningocele and omphalocele — allowing special care scenarios to be worked through in addition to standard resuscitation.
