Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
Each of the four models represents a different pressure ulcer (bedsore) stage: reddened, unbroken skin at stage 1; an open wound with partial skin loss at stage 2; a deep wound reaching the muscle at stage 3; and a severe wound affecting skin, muscle, bone, tendons and joints at stage 4.
The models, made from Life/like Skin, are each mounted on their own display easel, with an instruction key card for identifying and describing each stage during wound care and hygiene training.
They are intended for teaching pressure ulcer assessment and prevention in nursing and long-term care programmes.
