Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The simulator retains all the functions of the Pediatric Lumbar Puncture Simulator and additionally features an anatomically correct coccyx with sacral hiatus, allowing caudal injection to be trained as well. The iliac crest is embedded to aid palpation of bony landmarks.

It includes a removable spine and a spinal canal with realistic tactile feedback, plus two interchangeable skin pads: a transparent one for initial anatomical study, and an opaque one for advanced practice without direct sight of the internal structures. Fluid flow through the system gives real-time confirmation of correct needle placement.

It supports practice of landmark palpation, needle insertion and positioning, cerebrospinal fluid collection, pressure measurement, and intrathecal injection.
