Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

With this casualty simulation set you can create very realistic wounds for standardised patients in a few minutes, without any make-up skills. With a short explanation, the actors can attach the required wounds to themselves or to each other, without tutors having to spend time on make-up. The moulds included in the set can be filled with wound simulation compound many times. Once the compound has dried, the filled moulds are pressed onto the required wound position and the wound adheres to the skin or the manikin without glue. Add some of the supplied artificial blood and the wound is ready for use. For extra realism, flesh compound can be added into the wound.

Wounds can be dressed several times: remove the dressing, wash away the blood and re-apply new blood, ready for another round. After training, the wounds can easily be removed and disposed of, with no cleaning or maintenance needed. Consumables such as wound compound, flesh compound, fixation powder and artificial blood are available separately.

The set includes a cut, a superficial and a deeper laceration, an abrasion and a textile impression, such as a seat belt would cause in a car. For simulating haematomas, the set includes four skin colours. It also includes wound compound, flesh compound, fixation powder, isopropanol, artificial blood, a spatula for applying the compounds and cotton swabs for applying the blood. Suitable for professional training in skills labs.
