Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The model simulates human anatomy with clear bony landmarks (sternum, xiphoid process, ribs, intercostal spaces) on a patient in the supine position, and this variant incorporates a full body skeleton. It supports practice of precordial puncture, with entry points below the xiphoid process and at the seventh costal cartilage junction.

When pericardiocentesis is performed correctly, a yellow simulated fluid is obtained; if the needle is inserted too deeply, the fluid that emerges is red, allowing the trainee to recognise the error in real time.
