Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The model reproduces the chest and abdomen of an adult patient in the supine position, with the shoulder extended and the head turned to the left. It includes palpable landmarks such as the clavicle, sternocleidomastoid muscle, ribs, intercostal spaces, midclavicular line, anterior superior iliac spine and inguinal ligament.

It supports practice of internal jugular, subclavian and external jugular vein puncture with simulated carotid pulsation, pericardial puncture and intracardiac injection, liver puncture with tenderness feedback and a breath-holding prompt, abdominal paracentesis with shifting dullness, and iliac bone marrow puncture. An electronic monitoring system gives an audible alert when the needle is inserted incorrectly during the thoracic and hepatic punctures.

Skin and the various puncture cavities are replaceable, with spares supplied. The model also supports pre-procedure aseptic technique training.
