Este Swallowing Mechanism Model es un equipo de enseñanza médica desarrollado con el objetivo de ayudar a los asistentes a aprender el mecanismo de la deglución y el método adecuado para prevenir los trastornos asociados (problemas de deglución) al prestar asistencia en la alimentación. Debe ayudar a prevenir la neumonía causada por trastornos de la deglución, que a menudo se descuidan en el cuidado a las personas mayores.
