Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This prostate phantom is a compact transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) training phantom designed to provide realistic imaging of the prostate and surrounding anatomy using an ultrasoft, body tissue–mimicking material. Measuring 10 × 10 × 10 cm, the phantom features an embedded prostate and rectal cavity.
The ultrasoft tissue material provides a realistic consistency and acoustic response for hands-on ultrasound training, education, and procedural practice. The hollow rectal cavity allows an ultrasound probe to be inserted for realistic transrectal scanning of the prostate and surrounding anatomy.
The phantom can also be used for biopsy and needle-guided procedure training, allowing users to practice needle placement and image-guided techniques under ultrasound.
