Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
Realistic, comfortable and the fastest transformation for your scenario.
This torso is designed for trauma simulation. It can be worn by manikins and standardised patients alike. It is made from high-quality silicone with a mesh backing for added strength.
It fits trauma manikins such as Crash Kelly, ALS or similarly sized models. It works on larger manikins too, by covering the edges with clothing.
This product includes:
- Silicone torso
- Veltex back panel
It can be ordered in different grades of burn and in different skin tones. When bought together with a facial overlay for the same scenario, both can be made with matching burns and skin tone.
How to use the torso:
- On a standardised patient, wearing a singlet underneath makes it more comfortable.
- Connect the velcro on the silicone skin to the Veltex back panel.
- Wear trousers or shorts over the torso and a shirt to cover the back and arms.
- Soot and dirt can be added where needed. Be careful with soot powder: it spreads easily and may stain skin and clothing.
Dimensions and materials:
- Size: small/medium male; bellybutton to shoulder, 51 cm
- Weight: 2.5 kg
- Materials: platinum silicone, Veltex backing
Burn trauma that works well with this torso:
- MP010 — fire burns stick-on wound sheet
- MB010 — large burn sleeve
- MB215 — burned glove
- MB210 — long burned arm sleeve
Care instructions:
- Silicone is an oil-based product and may become slightly shiny over time: wipe off any oily residue with isopropyl alcohol and dry with a hairdryer.
- Talc powder can be used to matt down shiny areas.
- It can be washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with isopropyl alcohol. Dry thoroughly with a soft towel or hairdryer.
- Store it flat, in its case or in a dry, dark and cool place.
- The back panel can be washed separately and dried flat.
- Should it get damaged, it can be repaired with a silicone repair kit.
The photograph shows the torso only: it does not include the facial overlay, glove or wound sheets.
