Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The lower torso represents a patient in a supine position with the legs slightly apart: one leg is amputated below the knee, the other at mid-thigh. The body is long enough to allow the bandage to be carried around, passing over the uninvolved hip at the level of the iliac crest.
The upper torso includes both arms: one amputated above the elbow, the other above the wrist, both slightly extended in a position that makes bandaging easier.
The material closely reproduces the compressibility of a real stump, and both pieces can also be used to practise fitting prosthetic devices.
