Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The portable i.v. training arm and hand bring together realism, detail and light weight in a single trainer. They are self-contained trainers supplied in a plastic case that converts into a workstation, and they include everything needed to start practising i.v. techniques. They are made of a soft material with realistic veins that are visible and palpable beneath the skin surface. The veins are accessible in the antecubital fossa, along the forearm, on the back of the hand and on the thumb, so you can practise venepuncture at any of the usual sites. As you pass through the vinyl skin and the vein, the skin rolls while you palpate and you feel the characteristic pop as the needle enters the vein. Their price means every student can have their own set to practise the technique and the skills the course requires. With normal use they withstand hundreds of punctures. The skins and the veins cannot be replaced (in time the trainer will have to be replaced). Each trainer is supplied with two i.v. bags, a sachet of blood powder, syringes and a storage case.
