Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The synthetic skin reproduces the thinness and elasticity typical of an infant, while the thin-walled, small-lumen vein tubing gives realistic flashback on puncture. Access is possible to the greater and lesser saphenous veins, as well as the dorsal venous arch of the foot.
The veins are self-sealing, so they withstand repeated punctures without losing integrity, and venous pressure can be adjusted by varying the height of the connected IV bag.
It is intended for training in neonatal and paediatric intravenous cannulation technique, in nursing programmes as well as emergency and paramedic training.
