What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This 2-part model, enlarged 5 times life size, shows the anatomy of the human fallopian tube and ovary. The follicles are shown at different stages of maturation, from the primary ovarian follicle to the corpus albicans. A primary follicle is cross-sectioned to illustrate its inner structure: the oocyte, zona pellucida and granulosa cells.
It is mounted on a board.
