Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The most realistic and practical silicone face to transform your SimMan for more engaging simulation training.
Denise represents a Southern European woman in her mid-30s.
MEDICFX facial overlays are made from a very soft and durable silicone. They fit most manikins, and this particular face fits best on the SimMan.
Each face is hand-painted by MEDICFX’s FX artists, making every piece an original and realistic design.
A wig is attached to the overlay, making it easy to wrap over the manikin. Eyebrows and sideburns are punched into the silicone for added realism.
The back has a strap fastened with velcro, so fitting the face is straightforward: no stretching or pulling over the manikin’s head. It is also less claustrophobic for standardised patients to wear.
Facial overlays add realism to simulation training, making scenarios more believable and helping participants immerse themselves: they let you give your simulator any age, gender or ethnicity. They can also be worn by standardised patients, depending on face shape, and a scenario can be extended by moving the overlay from the patient to the manikin without breaking continuity.
Care instructions:
- Treat the overlay with the same care you would give a real human face.
- Do not overstretch the eye or mouth openings.
- Do not pull on the hair.
- Store it out of direct sunlight and in a cool environment.
- You can gently brush the hair, avoiding the roots and the edge of the wig.
- Silicone is an oil-based product and may become slightly shiny over time: wipe off any oily residue with isopropyl alcohol and matt it down with translucent powder.
- It can be washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with isopropyl alcohol.
- If needed, the hair can be washed with warm water and a little shampoo or conditioner, then dried with a hairdryer on a low setting.
- Should it get damaged, it can be repaired with a silicone repair kit.
