Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

This is the same Avtrach that replicates an anterior thorax on a live actor, in the configuration that includes the Ventilator Attachment. The simulated lungs let any ventilator be connected to the simulator, show real readings on the equipment and keep the patient in line while suctioning: the tracheostomy care scenario no longer has to be interrupted to disconnect the patient.

What it adds over the standard Avtrach

  • Ventilator-ready lungs. Connect your own ventilator and read real values on it.
  • In-line suctioning. The patient stays connected throughout the procedure, as on the ward.

What it shares with the Avtrach

  • Realistic suctioning. Antimicrobial simulated mucus delivers an authentic suctioning experience.
  • Lung sounds. Learners auscultate the full range of lung sounds with their own stethoscope, at four locations on the chest plate that the educator changes from the app.
  • Pressure sensor. If excessive pressure is applied to the tracheostomy plate, the strap vibrates to cue the wearer.
  • Carina sensor. If the suction catheter hits the carina, the wearer is cued through a vibration in the strap.
  • Skin tones. Available in 3 skin tones.

  • Deliver tracheostomy care on a ventilated patient.
  • Recognise catheter contact with the carina and correct it.
  • Avoid excessive pressure on the tracheostomy plate.
  • Auscultate and identify the range of lung sounds.
