Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

PHTLS is the prehospital trauma life support training programme aimed at emergency personnel. This torso brings together in a single trainer the practice points required by that curriculum: an intubation head with the ability to simulate airway complications, a right arm for IV therapy with a fluid reservoir, an intraosseous access site at the manubrium, bilateral pneumothorax decompression and chest tube insertion sites, a cricothyrotomy site and the ability to perform chest compressions.

By concentrating all these scenarios on a torso rather than a full-body manikin, it is more manageable and affordable for intensive training in prehospital emergency techniques: advanced airway, IV cannulation, IO access and chest trauma treatment.

The higher-wear components — skin, veins, blood powder, reservoir bags, sternal bone and pneumothorax pads — are replaceable.
