What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

This adult head for airway management uses a realistic skin. The feel and an anatomy that favours accurate visualisation make this trainer the right choice for advanced airway management, with the convenience of board mounting. It incorporates laryngospasm and tongue oedema. Both lungs and the stomach are visible so that correct intubation can be checked easily. All the anatomical landmarks are shown and the vocal cords are highlighted so that they are easy to see. The upper teeth come away if an inadequate technique is used during intubation. The board is fixed to the surface by suction-cup feet. The replacement skin of the cricoid area makes it possible to teach and practise surgical airway techniques economically. All the usual airway management devices work on this model. No carotid pulse.
