Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

This 3D printed specimen showcases the ligaments of the knee joint with the leg in flexion, providing a detailed anatomical view.
Anterior View Details
With the patella and part of the patellar ligament removed, the medial and lateral menisci as well as the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are clearly visible. Both the tibial and fibular collateral ligaments remain intact, offering insight into the knee’s stabilizing structures.
Medial and Lateral Structures
Medially, the insertions of the adductor magnus and semimembranosus muscles are preserved, along with the oblique popliteal ligament reflected over the posterior joint capsule. Laterally, the specimen retains the insertion of the biceps femoris and the origins of the popliteus and soleus muscles.

  • Recognise the cruciate ligaments, the collaterals and the menisci.
  • Explain the mechanism behind the clinical tests of the knee.
  • Place the arthroscopy portals and the joint puncture points.
Knowledge

Cases and pathologies

The clinical scenarios that can be simulated with this equipment.

Features and what's included

What the equipment does and what comes in the box, as described by the manufacturer.

Features

  • 3D printed replica made from radiological data or from a dissected cadaveric specimen, not a stylised model: this is real anatomy.
  • Developed and checked by the anatomists of the Human Anatomy Teaching Centre at Monash University.
  • Colourised to distinguish muscle, nerve, artery, vein and bone, and to separate territories or segments.
  • Not human tissue: no restrictions on transport, import or use in institutions without permission to work with cadavers.
