Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

The manikin faithfully reproduces the appearance of a full-term newborn, with soft, flexible skin, simulated subcutaneous and muscle tissue, and a simulated internal bone structure. It allows measurement of height, head circumference, chest circumference and abdominal circumference.

Besides CPR, it supports practice of basic newborn care tasks: nappy changing, bathing, umbilical cord care and correct holding of the baby. The flexible limb joints, with surface reference marks, allow realistic handling.

For resuscitation, the chest visibly rises and falls during bag-mask ventilation or intubation, and it provides feedback on chest compression quality; the manikin cries after 45 effective compressions, indicating successful resuscitation. The anatomically accurate oral and nasal structures also allow practice of secretion suctioning.
