What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This newborn doll is particularly suitable for nappy-changing and care courses aimed at parents-to-be. The jointed model can be used to practise holding and carrying the baby, umbilical cord care, skin care and nappy changing. It weighs approximately 1.1 kg, but feels heavier than a real baby because it has no muscle tone. As the mouth stays slightly open, the model can also be used to a limited extent for breastfeeding practice. It has an umbilical cord stump and numerous skin folds, ideal for practising personal hygiene. The head, the arms and the legs move thanks to rotating joints.
