Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
A life-size torso, the industry-standard model since 1986, for teaching central venous catheter care and vascular access. It includes a 9.6 Fr tunnelled central venous catheter with a visible Dacron cuff up to the clavicle, a slightly raised external jugular vein, and an opening for subclavian catheter placement. Three difficult-access inserts (‘normal’, ‘wandering’ and ‘deeply placed’) simulate different levels of difficulty when accessing the implanted device. The detachable arm features a dual 5 Fr PICC exiting the basilic vein and a pre-positioned 20G IV catheter in the forearm.
