What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
With this model it is possible to demonstrate clearly the birth canal and the passage of the fetal head through the female pelvis during birth. The pelvic skeleton consists of flexible hip bones with a movably mounted symphysis, the sacrum with the flexible coccyx and 2 lumbar vertebrae. The fetal skull is mounted on the base with a flexible coiled rod and can be moved freely.
