What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This comprehensive model of the dual-sex urinary system gives a complete overview of the urinary tract and shows the structures of the retroperitoneal cavity, the greater and lesser pelvis with their bones and muscles, the inferior vena cava, the aorta and its branches — including the iliac vessels —, the upper urinary tract, the rectum and the kidney with the adrenal gland. The anterior half of one of the kidneys is removable so that it can be examined in detail. With interchangeable male and female inserts (bladder and prostate in the male; bladder, uterus and ovaries in the female), this anatomical model is a highly useful teaching tool. It is mounted on a stand that makes it easy to display and study.
