Description

What this equipment is and what it's designed for.

This life-size manikin allows practice of the three standard techniques for clearing a foreign-body airway obstruction: abdominal thrust, chest thrust and back blow. It includes anatomical landmarks — ribcage, xiphoid process and suprasternal notch — to guide hand placement.

It is made of durable vinyl that gives a realistic tactile feel, and when the manoeuvre is performed correctly, it expels the object causing the obstruction, giving visual confirmation that the technique worked.
