Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
This complete version reproduces the same airway anatomy as the basic 5-year-old head — teeth, tongue, pharynx, larynx, epiglottis, vocal cords, trachea, lungs and oesophagus — but adds the ability to simulate tongue swelling and laryngospasm, complications the student may encounter in real clinical practice.
It includes separate lungs for auscultation, manual carotid pulse and an inflatable stomach bladder that indicates accidental oesophageal insufflation, and it supports oral, digital and nasal intubation with ET, EOA, PTL, LMA, EGTA, Combitube and King system devices.
The structures are positioned slightly more anteriorly than usual, increasing intubation difficulty and allowing more demanding training than standard models. It is mounted on its own stand that holds the head at the correct working height.
