Description
What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The model reproduces the lower torso on a vacuum-formed base, with a plastic bladder connected to a pressure bulb via tubing and connectors, simulating the normal pressure exerted by the abdominal wall during puncture.
It allows practice of suprapubic catheterisation – an increasingly common alternative to urethral catheter placement – and lets learners feel the correct insertion depth; once the bladder is reached correctly, water flows through the size-16 Foley catheter, giving tactile and visual confirmation of correct access.
It is supplied in a rigid carrying case, with an instruction manual.
