This phantom is designed for training in vascular puncture under ultrasound guidance. It features 5 simulated paediatric patient vessels with branches, providing training in hand-eye coordination, ultrasound image recognition, puncture positioning, in-plane and out-of-plane puncture techniques, and other fundamental skills required in clinical vascular procedures.

GENERAL:

Appearance and Acoustic Properties:
- The model has a skin-coloured appearance and its material mimics the acoustic properties of human tissue. It can display realistic vascular ultrasound images on any ultrasound device, facilitating training in vascular diameter measurement.
Vascular Simulation:
- The model includes 5 simulated vessels with one bifurcation
- The main trunk has a diameter of 6 mm, with branch diameters of 4 mm and 2 mm respectively.
- These vessels contain a simulated blue fluid to replicate venous blood vessels.
Clinical Scenario Simulation:
- By adjusting the depth of the simulated vessels, the model replicates realistic clinical scenarios for vascular puncture under ultrasound guidance.
- It allows comprehensive training in monitoring the puncture process with ultrasound, observing the position of the needle tip and spatial positioning for puncture and biopsy training.
Realistic Puncture Sensation:
- The model provides a realistic sensation during puncture. Successful punctures result in a visible flashback of blood.
- In addition, injecting a small amount of fluid makes it possible to confirm the position of the needle tip, with the fluid capable of self-extrusion.
Advanced Training Curriculum:
- Using factors such as vessel thickness and relative position, the model supports the development of a progressive training curriculum for ultrasound-guided vascular puncture.
