What this equipment is and what it's designed for.
The Arm/Lower Leg Gunshot Wound Simulation Sleeve was developed for realistic training and continuing education in military, tactical and civilian emergency medical services. The flexible sleeve is easily slipped over the arm or lower leg of a training manikin or actor, so realistic scenarios can be set up quickly.
The simulation represents a typical gunshot wound with an entry wound and an exit wound on the opposite side. Such injury patterns are particularly common in tactical operations, but are increasingly encountered in civilian emergency medical services too, and require professional training in wound care.
For an authentic simulation, the sleeve has an integrated blood flow tube that can be connected to an external source of artificial blood. This allows realistic bleeding to be simulated and enables training of haemostasis measures, such as tourniquets or pressure bandages, under realistic conditions.
Made from a soft specialty material, the sleeve has a lifelike appearance and a natural feel. Internal fabric reinforcement provides high durability, so the sleeve can be used reliably even with regular use in demanding training environments.
