Description

Simulated birth assistance training to improve clinical skills: The episiotomy and suture trainer allows for practice in the professional care and suturing of vaginal birth wounds.

It is recommended that medical personnel (midwives and doctors) receive continuous training in the diagnosis and treatment of birth injuries.

In order to realistically reproduce these birth wounds, the simulator allows the following muscle structures to be palpated and sutured in the perineal area:

• M. sphincter ani externus (external sphincter ani externus muscle)
• M. transversus perinei superficialis (superficial transverse muscle of the perineum)
• M. bulbospongiosus (bulbospongiosus muscle)
