Haemorrhage control arm – 3 wounds

PRODUCT NUMBER 3759

Upper extremity bleeding control trainer with realistic wound and bleeding simulation. Enhances pre-hospital care training through hands-on training with bleeding control instructions including wound packing and tourniquet application. This simulator is particularly suitable for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and civilian casualty training.

The Haemorrhage Control Training Arm offers a perfect solution to realistically learn how to control bleeding and treat traumatic injuries to the arm. Trainees will gain confidence in treating complicated bleeding with tourniquets and wound packing.

The arm consists of three distinct wound patterns:

  • Deep laceration or stab wound (5 cm).
  • Large calibre gunshot wound (GSW) with entry and exit
  • Joint wound in the shoulder area

CHARACTERISTICS

GENERAL:

  • Dimensions: 93 cm
  • Weight: 3 kg
  • The trainer simulates the full arm of an adult male with realistic external anatomy.
  • Skin is made of high quality SKINlike™ durable silicone to simulate human skin and touch
  • Includes bony landmarks and palpable GSW-damaged blood vessels
  • Direct response: bleeding stops (by mechanical occlusion of blood vessels) when a tourniquet has been properly applied (placement and closure)
  • A tourniquet can be applied high and tight or 5-8 cm (2″-3″) above the wound.
  • Each wound can be concealed with a specific cover to create modular injury scenarios
  • Each wound bleeds separately
  • Designed for field use: rugged construction, no batteries or external power required
  • Easy to clean and transport in carrying bag (included)
  • Cost-effective, realistic simulator for frequent training sessions
  • Instructor-controlled bleeding: Bleeding from each wound is controlled by a manual blood pumping system that simulates pulsatile arterial or venous bleeding.
  • The trainer functions as a stand-alone simulator, but can also be placed on a volunteer using the bag’s carrying strap for added realism.
  • Realistic bleeding simulation can include direct response (stopping the bleeding) when the trainee successfully manages the bleed.

BLEEDING CONTROL PROCEDURES:

  • Application of tourniquets
  • Filling of wounds, including joint wounds
  • Application of XSTAT® (haemostatic device)

INCLUDE

  • Trauma arm with 3 different trauma wounds
  • 3 wound covers
