Normal anatomy – Cystocentesis:

• The insert allows the bladder to be located under ultrasound and the anatomy to be identified. The bladder can be punctured, the material has self-healing properties, so that to a certain extent the puncture channels close by themselves. The insert can be refilled with water and is available as a spare part.

Bladder stones:

• Undiagnosed bladder stones are very painful for the animal and can even cause death. This insert allows you to locate and identify bladder stones so that you can see what they look like under ultrasound.

Bladder cancer:

• Bladder cancer can be very painful and life-threatening. This insert allows the practitioner to practice locating a tumour with ultrasound.

Bladder inflammation (cystitis):

• Bacterial infection of the lower urinary tract is often painful and needs to be treated urgently. With this insert, the practitioner learns to recognise and diagnose cystitis.

Description

This training simulator of the lower body of a medium-sized dog provides comprehensive training in ultrasound examination of the canine bladder.

Four different inserts cover the main procedures/diagnoses, allowing training in diagnostic skills. The conditions often present with similar symptoms, so ultrasound examination is useful to obtain the actual diagnosis. Externally identical inserts require diagnostic skills to identify pathology.
