CHARACTERISTICS

TRUE-TO-LIFE TRAINING ENVIRONMENT:

• The non-haptic laparoscopic training system is available either as a standalone portable desktop platform or with an optional height adjustable tower, which includes a touch screen.

PROCEDURAL TASKS:

• Essential laparoscopic skills are developed via interactively-guided tasks that support various difficulty levels.

COMPLETE CLINICAL PROCEDURES:

• Complex clinical scenarios with real time complications and injuries enable learners to experience different approaches to the procedure.

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT:

• Didactic features and educational aids such as 3D anatomical maps, step-by-step real life videos, interactive instructions and ready-to-use courses.

PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT:

• Comprehensive objective reports and proficiency level setting tools allow for efficient tracking of the training progress.

PROCTOR MODE:

• Enables real-time intervention of the proctor during the procedure to evaluate the trainee’s decision making.
• The proctor can trigger injuries, modify tissue characteristics and limit tool selection

TEAM TRAINING (option):

• The Team Training setup provides high fidelity technical practice for all participants in the procedure along with reinforcement of non-technical skills, including: enhancing communication skills, optimizing coordination and cooperation within the team, and improving decision-making in both routine and emergency situations.
• Easy plug-and-play connection between the haptic LAP MentorTM and the portable LAP Mentor Express simulators allows an optimal combination between individual and team training.
• Currently available on: Lap Chole Procedures, Appendectomy and Hysterectomy.

LAP MENTOR VR (option):

• The LAP Mentor VR allows trainees to work on the simulator while wearing a VR headset, which enables a complete immersive experience in a realistic 3D operating room setting, featuring the OR team, the patient, OR equipment and real-life sound diversions.
• This setting provides the most true-to-life experience and teaches trainees how to cope with the stressful, and at times distracting, operating room atmosphere.
• Currently available for: LAP Chole, Appendectomy, Inguinal Hernia and Hysterectomy Modules.

The LAP Mentor simulators are cost-effective laparoscopic training simulators that use innovative learning tools. Each platform is fully compatible with all simulation modules from basic laparoscopic tasks and suturing (with interchangeable suturing handles), to complete procedure training.

The LAP Mentor platform enables constant addition of new modules.
