The breast self-examination simulator is a teaching and practice simulator for training individuals in breast palpation techniques.

The simulator allows women to practice all phases of breast examination in both seated and supine positions. This lightweight simulator is designed with a concave backrest that allows it to be placed against the patient for easy demonstration or practice of palpation techniques.

The self-examination simulator comes complete with an instructional guide and the American Cancer Society’s Guide to Breast Examination.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Each breast has abnormalities. The left breast has a small nodule in the upper outer quadrant and a fibroadenoma in the lower inner quadrant. The right breast has a fixed nodule in the upper outer quadrant and a fluid-filled cyst in the lower inner quadrant.
  • Special vinyl formulations have been used to create the most realistic look and feel possible.
  • Realistic fluid breast mass. This mass allows the displacement of breast tissue under palpation almost exactly as it occurs in a live patient.
